DI Women: Kansas makes history with fourth consecutive win

Coach Lindsay Kuhle’s Kansas Jayhawks (#24) claimed a record fourth win in a row with victory at the Match in the Desert at Superstition Mountain, besting five other teams ranked in the top 40. In tough conditions on a testing layout, the strategy of playing to conservative spots proved to be the right one for Kansas as the team finished two shots ahead of Arizona State (#7) and five ahead of Texas A&M (#17).

Kansas senior Lily Hirst got off to a hot start to her final round, going four under thru the first five holes and played steady golf thereafter to claim her first win. “We prepared for this event and felt confident,” said Coach Kuhle. “Super excited for these ladies that their hard work and preparation is paying off this season. They are playing with great confidence.”
