The 2026 regional sites and contenders
This year’s path to the National Championship runs through six different host sites. Here’s a quick look at where the action is happening:
Ann Arbor
University of Michigan Golf Course
The top ranked team ahead of play are University of Southern California who sit in 2nd place. They’ve had a fantastic season with seven wins including their recent conference championship. Other teams to look out for are Duke (#10) and Northwestern, the reigning NCAA DI National Championships.
Chapel Hill
The UNC Finley Golf Club
Heading into the tournament, University of Texas are the highest ranked team (5th) with University of North Carolina next in the rankings (12th) with both teams securing two wins this season. Farah O’Keefe leads the way for the Individual competition. The Junior is atop the National Collegiate Golf Rankings with three wins with each coming in her last six starts.
Louisville
University of Louisville
Four of the DI Women’s top 20 teams are competing in Louisville this week, headed up by Arkansas (#6). The Razorbacks will likely be tough to beat but Auburn (#7), Iowa State (#18) and Mississippi (#19) will be hoping for a strong performance to clinch the title and a championship ticket. Many eyes will be on Maria Jose Marin (#2) who’ll be looking to enter the National Championships in good form to defend her 2025 crown.
Stanford
Stanford Golf Course
Stanford will come into this home match as undoubted favorites. They’ve been the dominant team in women’s DI college golf this year, racking up 6 wins including the conference championship. However, it won’t be plain sailing for the Cardinal as Pepperdine (#11), Vanderbilt (#13) and Arizona State (#22) all had good performances in their respective conference championships. Paula Martin Sampedro, Andrea Revuelta and Megha Ganne, all of Stanford and all ranked inside the top 10 will be leading contenders for the title.
Tallahassee
Seminole Legacy GC
The Sunshine State will play host to a fiercely contested tournament. Florida (#3) enter the play as the favorites but don’t rule our 2023 National Champions, Wake Forest who have been putting together a good season. Paula Franciso (#8) starts as the highest ranked player and is fresh off winning the SEC Individual Conference Championship by two shots.
Waco
Ridgewood Country Club
Texas A&M (#4) and Oregon (#8) will be the leading contenders heading into this weeks play. Oregon reigned supreme in their regional last year, winning by eight shots. A lot of people will be looking at Tennessee to mount a challenge to the top two ranked sides though after their win at the SEC Championship in Florida
